When we get at the Marangu Gate, we divide up the luggage among the team so that each porter has 20 kilograms, which is the maximum weight allowed by National Park regulations. Get a climbing permission by registering customers and crew. About an hour is needed to complete the registration process at Park. Next, we begin the 3–4 hour walk to Mandara Hut. Climbers would halt en route to Mandara for a 20-minute break to eat their prepared lunch. After dinner, spend the night at Mandara Hut. At 2700 meters above sea level, Mandara is situated.
